Deep Grove Ball Bearings

Single-row deep groove ball bearings (DGBBs) are the most commonly used bearing type, engineered for high performance in radial and axial load applications. These bearings feature precision-machined raceway grooves in both the inner and outer rings, forming an arc slightly larger than the ball radius. This geometry enables smooth rotation with low friction and minimal noise under varying loads.

DGBBs are available in open, shielded (ZZ), or sealed (DDU/2RS) configurations. Shielded bearings use metal covers to protect against larger particles, while sealed variants use rubber contact seals to retain lubricant and exclude contaminants—ideal for demanding environments. Some models include snap rings on the outer ring for secure axial positioning during mounting.

Cage material options typically include pressed steel for general applications, while high-speed or heavy-duty variants may use machined brass cages for improved stability and wear resistance.

Key Performance Features:

  • Supports radial and axial loads in both directions
  • Sealed and shielded options for enhanced protection and maintenance-free operation
  • C3 internal clearance available for higher speed and temperature tolerance
  • Snap ring (NR) grooves optional for simplified axial positioning
  • Available in metric sizes, with standardized tolerances and fits

Common Applications:

  • Electric motors (industrial, servo, stepper)
  • Pumps and compressors
  • Agricultural machinery (tractors, tillers, harvesters)
  • Conveyors and automated handling systems
  • Textile and printing machines
  • Marine and outboard engines
  • Power tools, gearboxes, and fans
